How to Start a Candle Making Business from Home

Today everyone is struggling to survive, and one the biggest concerns right now is how to make MONEY! Am I right?

So many people are looking for a way to earn a living, or supplement their income by making money from home.  There is so much stuff to sort out there on the internet to sort through, I remember when it made my head spin like I was Regan in the Exorcist.

I know really know how it feels!  I have been in those shoes. I was looking  at all kinds of money making business ideas for what seemed like forever!  My unemployment had run out, I am in Las Vegas. Unemployment is currently at 14.2%, no one can find work, and the government has forgotten about the 99er’s! Unfortunately I believe you are going to have to fend for yourself! I really truly believe we have to do more for ourselves, make our own money, and build our own security.

Not only that, so many people having depleted cash flows, lots of you are trying to find a home based business model available with low start ups costs, so you can bring in some additional income. One of the ways to do so is by starting your own home based scented soy candles business.  When you work from home you will be able to start to regain a bit of control over your own finances.

My friend Shirley, (also the lady I just moved in) with raved about my gardenia scented soy candle when she walked into the house yesterday. Yes, I have been busy, because I just made more gardenia scented soy candles for our house.

In the video I used the fragrance Tangerine, but we really love the clean smell of Gardenia.  Shirley loved the fact our whole house smelled so fresh, I wanted to post my YouTube Video under GreenGardenerGal so you can see how I made the double wick scented soy candles.

Well I am slowly being able to publish more articles. However, the recent ones have been posted at EzineArticles. The latest articles I was able to write about include the healing powers of aromatherapy, and another on why organic soy candle wax is ideal for making aromatherapy candles.  For anyone who is interested in making their own soy wax massage candles, I think you should read the article about organic soy candle wax. In my opinion, you will be wanting to make them as pure as possible, since you will be using the warm soy candle wax on naked skin. Also, certain essential oils are really strong, so you need to develop your knowledge about using them especially when you are making aromatherapy scented soy candles, or when you are making soy wax massage candles.

I found a really nice article authored by Matt Droves today. It discusses the positive qualities of making scented soy candles, a mini history on the background of soy candle wax, he even discussed melting temperatures of the soy candle wax to preserve the white color of the soy wax, which I commend him for. He then goes on to discuss the additional of scents.

How To Make Double Wicked Scented Soy Candles Video

When it gets right down to it, the larger container candles need more candle wick. This is necessary to provide the appropriate amount of heat required to create a melt pool that fully covers the candle surface. If you do not have the correct wick sizes, or quantites, tunneling will occur because the full surface of the wax is not consumed as the wax is burned.

So on that note, I made this double wicked scented soy candle using a tangerine fragrance, and turned it into a video. Because wick placement correct wick placement is so important, I showed you one of the ways that I use the wicks in combination with a dowel rod, and a glue gun to secure the candle wicks exactly where I want them before I pour the soy candle wax.

Make Scented Soy Tealight Heart Pheromone Enhanced Centerpiece

So here is my favorite Valentine’s Day Scented Soy Candle Heart Centerpiece that I made.  Hope you like it.  In the video I have a shot of the soy candle heart lit at night. I did not have the roses and rose petals etc around it at the time, but hopefully it will give you an idea of what it looked like when lit.  Hope you enjoy!
