Time and time again on the Internet, I have seen advertisements for soy candles being sold that are touted as Triple Scented Soy Candles.
The presumption with “Triple Scented” candles is the scent load held will be three times greater than the fragrance held by a normal candle. Unfortunately this isn’t always true. I would suggest that you check the length of your candlewick. Is it to short? If you are trimming the wick shorter than 1/4 inch, the flame can be extinguished by the melting soy wax as it pools around the candle. Also, if your candle wick is to small, it will not consume the soy candle wax. Soy candle wax is a fuel for the wick to burn, and it will drown from lack of combustion.

Recently when I poured my soy wax candles they crusted on the tops. The color in my candle looks like it is bleeding? What did I do wrong to cause this?
Unfortunately, soy has many positive qualities, but one of the fact about the use of Soy Wax, it is not as efficient at holding large quantities of fragrance. Most of the time when this happens, the fragrance used is in a greater quanity than the soy wax is capable of holding. What you see then, is the fragrance oil seeping out, and pulling color with it.
